The Homestay in Ecuador program is a unique opportunity to dive deep into the heart of Ecuador’s culture. Participants get to live with carefully selected local families, fostering a genuine connection with the customs and everyday life of Ecuadorians. This immersive experience is designed not only to enhance one’s language abilities but also to foster cultural exchange, offering a rich and intimate perspective of the country that goes beyond that of a traditional tourist.
Our dedicated family coordinator in Quito, alongside regional representatives across Ecuador, ensure that each homestay is a harmonious and enriching experience. They live with you, guiding and supporting your journey every step of the way, ensuring you become an integral part of the family and community.
Whether you are pairing your homestay with language lessons at the EIL Language Center or engaging with the local community through volunteer work, this program promises a multifaceted adventure. It is an unparalleled approach to learning, sharing, and growing in a way that honors the spirit of Ecuadorian life.
- The program duration is a minimum of 1 week, with the possibility to extend as desired.

The Homestay in Ecuador program offers several modalities to cater to different interests and needs:
- Standard Homestay: Live with a local family, partake in their daily activities, and share in the cultural practices and typical family life.
- Homestay with Language Classes: In addition to the standard homestay experience, enroll in Spanish classes at the EIL Language Center to enhance your language proficiency.
- Homestay with Volunteering: Combine the homestay with an opportunity to volunteer in local community projects, allowing for a deeper understanding of the social and environmental context of Ecuador.
Each modality provides a unique angle to experience Ecuador and ensures that participants have a fulfilling and meaningful stay.
