VOLUNTEERS FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP (VIP)

   COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS

Volunteer in Ecuador and put your energy and skills into a special community service project. At the same time meet new people, learn another language, and immerse yourself into Ecuadorian Life and Culture.

• Homestay with an Ecuadorian Family, meals included
• 80 hours of Spanish classes in Quito
• Community service in social welfare or conservation projects

• Assisting in management of shelter, tutoring and teaching English 
• Working with street children of Quito
• Assisting with children at day care centers
• Working with the elderly
• Working with the handicapped (physical therapy, schooling and workshops)
• Teaching English  and computer use
• Assisting medical staff at Hospitals and Health Centers
• Assisting with lunch program for underprivileged children

• Organic farming 
• Cloud forest conservation
• Zoo management 
• Protection of  tropical forests and guiding of tourists

• Good mental and physical health
• Minimum Age: 18
• Openness, communicative, able to adapt to another culture
• Initiative

OTHER COMMUNITY  SERVICE PROGRAMS

I. CIVIL SERVICE – ANDERER DIENST IM AUSLAND (ADIA)

An 11-month program for young Germans who choose community service abroad in lieu of military service.

• Homestay with an Ecuadorian host family 
• 80 hours of Spanish classes plus introduction  to Ecuadorian life and  culture work project during the first month of program 
• 10 months of community service teaching English, computer use, and physical education in rural areas while living with and assisting small farmers

II.  WELTWÄRTS

A volunteer Program for young Germans consisting of:

• Homestays with an Ecuadorian family or at a community project site
• One week orientation to volunteer work and Spanish classes
• One year of volunteer work in a chosen social welfare or conservation project

 III.  VOLUNTEER PROJECTS IN ECUADOR FOR GROUPS:

• EIL Ecuador organizes volunteer work programs for groups from abroad.
• This community service may be short or long term. 
• Many of our incoming summer groups do short term projects (3 days) and others up to one week as part of an overall introduction to Ecuador agenda.
